New GLRPPR Resources on Climate Change and Nanotechnology

Be sure to check out the recently added GLRPPR Sector Resources on Climate Change and Nanotechnology. As with any Sector Resource, these online compilations include links to online and hard copy documents, expert contact information, and also integrate relevant events, funding opportunities, Help Desk questions and answers and recent news stories. Currently, the Climate Change Sector Resource includes a section for statistical information; the Nanotechnology Sector Resource includes special sections for environmental health and safety information, as well as information on environmental remediation.

The Climate Change Sector Resource RSS Feed and the Nanotechnology Sector Resource RSS Feed are available for those who want to stay up to date on the latest information related to these topics.

Small Business Resources: MPCA’s Small Business Environmental Assistance Program

If you operate a small business in Minnesota, be sure to check out the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency’s Small Business Environmental Assistance Program web pages. Included are general information pages on air, water, waste and clean up issues, a link to the Environmental Guide for Small Businesses in Minnesota, information specific for various sectors (including auto body and auto repair, dry cleaning, halogenated solvent cleaning, automotive salvage yards, chromium electroplating and anodizing, fiberglass fabricators, and wood finishers), links to related EPA initiatives, and archived editions of two newsletters–Small Business Enterprise, a quarterly newsletter published by the SBEAP that covers pollution prevention, compliance and training, and The Cross Link, a newsletter geared specifically toward fiber reinforced plastics (FRP) products manufacturers.

P2 for Hospital Sterilizers, Area Source Categories, & Biotech Labs

The Pacific Northwest Pollution Prevention Resource Center (PPRC) has developed three new Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange (P2Rx) Topic Hubs: P2 for Hospital Sterilizers, P2 for Area Source Categories, and Biotechnology Labs. The Hospital Sterilizer Topic Hub provides information for health care facilities and pollution prevention professionals on the sterilizer ethylene oxide (EtO) and how to reduce its use while providing necessary sterilization capabilities at a health care facility. The P2 for Area Source Categories Topic Hub provides information and tools to facilitate assistance to sources that are themselves small emitters of toxic air pollutants, but collectively comprise 1/4 to 1/3 of all toxic air emissions. The Biotechnology Labs Topic Hub provides information for biotech research labs, manufacturers, and P2 professionals on how to reduce toxic material use, wastes and energy and water use in biotech labs.
