Laura L. Barnes named GLRPPR Executive Director

Laura L. Barnes has been named the Executive Director of the Great Lakes Regional Pollution Prevention Roundtable.  Laura is a librarian with the Prairie Research Institute and the Illinois Sustainable Technology Center at the University of Illinois. She has been active in GLRPPR and P2Rx for more than a decade and is best known for her work using social media and other web 2.0 tools to improve information sharing with specialized clients and the general public. She also authors the Environmental News Bits blog (http://envnewsbits.wordpress.com). Laura earned a B.A. in History and an M.S. in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has served on the boards of several library organizations and is active in statewide library committees. She is a member of the American Library Association, the Illinois Library Association, the Special Libraries Association, and the Society of Environmental Journalists.
